Hard chrome plating extends the service life of wear parts many times over and therefore ensures long, trouble-free machine running times. It is therefore ideal for repairing high-quality components – and offers an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to scrapping and purchasing new parts.

Depending on the technical requirements of your parts, we recommend PTFE-containing sealing as a post-treatment in addition to hard chrome plating. For optimum wear protection, we also carry out mechanical processing such as pre-grinding, regrinding and polishing in-house.

The processing of our authorisation dossier by the relevant ECHA committees has been successfully completed. The assessment was confirmed with a draft opinion covering 12 years – the longest possible authorisation period currently available. This recommendation now serves as the basis for the European Commission’s final decision.

We are delighted with this extremely positive result. With this authorisation, we are one of the few contract coaters that can offer their customers a long-term and reliable supply commitment for hard chrome plating.

At the same time, we remain actively involved in research and development projects to develop chromium VI-free alternatives for hard chrome coatings so that we can continue to offer our customers innovative and sustainable solutions in the future.

Hardness 950-1,100 HV0.1 130-150 linear cracks per cm in the as-deposited state

Hot chrome-hard chrome

1st stage: Hot chrome plating; hardness 450-500 HV0. 1 crack-free
2nd stage: Micro-cracked hard chrome plating Stage: Micro-cracked hard chrome plating

Double hard chrome

Two layers deposited on top of each other, in which the microcracks overlap.

Multilayer hard chrome

Three layers deposited on top of each other with different parameters, forming a layer that is closed to the base material.
